The David Connolly and Jabel engagement ring collections are composed of classic, modern, and vintage engagement ring designs, so you can find a unique style that speaks to you. From solitaire diamonds to three stone rings and diamond mountings, we have the perfect styles to forever mark this special moment in life. Our designs are made in America and crafted using 14K yellow, white, and rose gold. Our Jabel collection also offers rings in platinum and 18K yellow and white. The diamonds adorning our rings are Kimberly process compliant and conflict free, ensuring you always receive ethically sourced, high-quality stones. However, center stones are not included in the designs and are dependent on local jeweler compliance.
Within the Jabel collection, a unique die striking process is used to craft many of our beloved vintage engagement rings. First, a careful blend of precious metals are alloyed together to form lustrous gold bars, which are equally beautiful, strong, and malleable. Next, the metal bars are repeatedly heated and rolled, allowing the gold to be thinned to a sheet of specified thickness, without affecting the malleable qualities of the gold. The heating process is critical to keeping the metal soft and malleable, which eliminates cracking and allows the metal to retain its strength and integrity. When the desired thickness is reached, the gold sheets move through a series of steps. First, the gold is die struck to compress the metal into the desired shape. The compression process makes the metal more dense, adding strength and durability to the metal.
Jabel’s die striking process is used to create both the mounting, or ring portion, as well as the head, or stone setting. By creating these two pieces separately, we are able to give you complete control over the design of your ring, allowing you to mix and match center stone shapes and sizes with a variety of colorful precious metal settings. The Jabel collection is truly the ultimate “design your own engagement ring” experience. Furthermore, many of our diamond mountings and three stone rings can be customized, allowing you to select precious stones in place of accent diamonds, giving your die struck engagement ring a unique pop of color.
The three most common styles of engagement rings are solitaire rings, three stone rings, and diamond mountings. Chosen for a variety of reasons, each style has its own unique set of benefits and appeals. Three stone rings are often symbolic of a couple’s past, present, and future together. However, solitaire engagement rings are excellent for diamond enthusiasts, as a classic solitaire engagement ring will keep all eyes on the diamond. Yet, diamond mountings are favored for their prominent center stone and diamond embellishments, which accentuate unique elements of the design. Regardless of which style you favor, each design is truly timeless and elegant.
Intricate motifs can be incorporated into each style of engagement ring, making your ring even more unique. Vintage engagement rings tend to be embellished with intricate and ornate details, such as Jabel’s signature hand-engraved wheat motif. Our vintage engagement rings are often hand-engraved or embellished with ornate pierced settings, colorful sapphire side stones, and two tone contrasting designs.
One of the most unique engagement ring motifs in the Jabel collection are the pink and green gold rose and leaf carved series. These rings feature individually die struck roses and leafs, which are hand assembled by Jabel’s expert jewelers. The realistic, three-dimensional motifs are enhanced with hand-engraved details. Of these rings, the most popular design is Jabel’s floral solitaire ring, which includes a matching wedding band.
While the Jabel collection offers many stunning vintage engagement rings, we also feature a beautiful selection of more modern settings. These rings include sleek, full bezel solitaire engagement rings, tension set solitaire engagement rings, bold channel set diamond mountings, and full bezel channel set diamond mountings. For a more fashion forward look, many couples select a two tone design in contrasting gold colors.
While classic diamond engagement rings remain a timeless favorite, there is a growing movement toward more adventurous engagement ring styles. These styles include colored stone engagement rings and diamond cluster engagement rings, which offer a unique twist on classic designs. For gemstone rings, the most popular design is sapphire engagement rings—often as a three stone baguette ring or a round halo diamond engagement ring with a sapphire center. Jabel’s beloved diamond clusters are also an excellent choice for unique engagement ring styles, as its unique domed setting gives the diamond cluster ring an impressive look. The shape of the dome cluster is specifically designed to lessen dark spots from prongs, while allowing light to more efficiently pass through the stone for enhanced brilliance.
